I’ve recently been working out in Brentford at a client’s, so when Urban Villas sent an invite to their launch party ‘sleep over’ it was the perfect fit.
I dragged Laura out to Brentford to enjoy the hospitality and check out the hotel.
On arrival there was free prosecco whilst we waited for our rooms, and a whole heap of cocktails!

Boutique hotelier Urban Villa opened their first UK hotel in Brentford last month (that’s Brentford, not to be confused with TOWIE territory Brentwood in Essex). Think serviced apartments/aparthotel but with more attention to detail and to the guest – whom are encouraged to treat their room like an apartment, but are offered all the benefits of a hotel.
There’s a virtual concierge via the TV, in-room spa treatments, the NoHo gym or you can even request an in-room gym kit if you want to work out in private.

The 999-year lease for the 100 apartments was acquired by Union Hanover in April. The landmark 25-storey tower, from Barratt London, is located at Great West Quarter (GWQ) in Brentford as part of the scheme.

Tricked-out rooms are only part of a hotel’s allure. Eye-catching design, an animated bar and a pool (bonus if it’s on the roof) are really what we crave when we’re not playing tourist. Everyone loves a party but no one likes the early departure to get the last train home or in fact the journey home at all. So when I was invited to the launch party of Urban Villa and offered a room to stay I was all in. No costly taxis, no one to say when the last drink was to be had, and a bed a couple of storeys up. Excellent.
My room was on the 9th floor and really more like an apartment. Along with the usual bed and bathroom it also had a fully-equipped kitchen and a balcony with floor to ceiling panoramic views.

I imagine the prospect of trekking all the way to Brentford after work on a Friday night would deter a lot of people from attending the Urban Villa hotel’s opening party but those that did make the effort had a brilliant time.
We scoffed juicy burgers from the Meat Liquor food truck, slurped cocktails from connoisseur Thomas Aske and Soulshakers, indulged in manicures and massages and watched in amazement as cabaret acts stormed the stage, all curated by burlesque performer Miss Giddy Heights.

Brentford might not be the first place you think of for a great night; but the people behind London’s latest hotel concept aren’t trying to be typical.
Launched in late January, Urban Villa combines upmarket serviced apartments with a boutique hotel feel, and it’s only a 12-minute cab journey away from the centre, so if you fancy some city action, it’s never too far away.

A few weeks ago I received an invite to a sleepover in Brentford, West London for a night at a new hotel called Urban Villa. The invite promised cocktails from Soulshakers, dinner from The Beefy Boys, (recent winners of ‘Best Burger’ at the World Food Awards) live music and DJing. I was sold…. nearly.
I had the small matter of a pop up the next night at my house for 19 people so after looking through my menu and cooking schedule I decided that I would be able to sneak away from the house for the Friday night to spend it at Urban Villa

On Friday I was invited to the dress rehearsal of Urban Villa in Brentford. I say dress rehearsal rather than launch, as the poor people putting together the block of urban apartments didn’t get the keys till the last minute, and were therefore still completing the decorating and final touches when we arrived.
Despite the last minute rush to finish they treated us terribly well and our stay in our suite was delightful.
